Our fronds at YouTube gave us another opportunity to create an animated accompaniment to CEO Susan Wojcicki's community update.
This time we took an editorial approach with subtle embellishments, like overprinting effects and misprint lines, which made interesting shapes and textures. Our motion technique had an infinite flow with minimal hard cuts, meant to be reminiscent of Youtube's infinite autoplay—a constant journey of discovery. On-screen typography was emphasized and balanced to work with Wojcicki's voice over as see-say and incorporate into our grid-based system with color and other brand assets.
We used lots of creator content to further showcase some of this years' topics, which included sustainability, learning, gaming, music, Shorts, and #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund. Plus, more transparency and protection for creators. Music tied the entire video together and incorporated various YouTube artists.
