About
BibleProject asked us to create a short animated narrative exploring the history and meaning of anointing, from ancient rituals involving kings and prophets to the symbolic acts of healing and sanctification. The film needed to feel immersive and cinematic while making the subject accessible and visually captivating.

Our Approach
We partnered with BibleProject to capture a celestial ceremony through meticulously detailed cel animation. Every frame was hand-illustrated, saturated with vibrant colors and glowing textures that give the piece a uniquely cinematic quality. The art direction draws from historical and sacred imagery while maintaining a visual freshness that feels distinctly contemporary.
The animation team built environments and characters from scratch, developing a rich visual world that transcends time. The illustration style layers warm, saturated palettes with luminous highlights, creating an atmosphere that feels both ancient and alive.
The Result
The Anointed is one of the most craft-intensive projects we've produced, a piece where every frame rewards close attention. It demonstrates what's possible when traditional 2D cel animation is given the time, care, and artistic ambition it deserves, and it's a project that pushed our team's illustration and animation skills to new levels.
