Ali is a director, animator, story artist and writer from Montreal, Quebec, now based just outside of Toronto. Trained in classical animation and design, her award-winning film, Nana, was screened at over 40 festivals worldwide. Since premiering her film, she has worked for a number of different studios both in the US and Canada, including directing multiple shorts for PBS Kids.
In 2019/2020 she co-directed and designed the advertising posters and promotional videos for the Toronto Animation Festival. Ali also writes and creates original tv shows, and two of them have gone on to win first place at film festival pitch competitions. One was recently optioned for development in Canada. Ali seeks out projects that showcase creativity in storytelling and likes creating work that is both heartwarming and emotional as well as light, cheerful and fun.
